2018 Summer Wrestling Camps

It is said that “Summer Wrestlers make Winter Champions.”  We believe that a big part of the success of Stanford’s and Orange’s wrestling programs has been the commitment to working hard over the summer.  Every summer we provide several opportunities to become better wrestlers.  Below is a list of the camps we will be attending along with a brief description.

Orange High Wrestling Camp:

This camp is a Monday through Thursday day camp from 8am until noon.  This camp is open to all school aged wrestlers.  This is a great way to introduce younger wrestlers to the sport.  This is also a great opportunity for middle school and high school wrestlers to sharpen their technique and get some live wrestling experience.  This also serves as an important fundraiser for the Orange Wrestling program which allows them to travel to several tournaments throughout the season.

When:  June 18th-21st  8am-Noon

Where:  Orange High School Gym

Cost:  $60 per wrestler;  A two for $70 price will be given to families with more than one wrestler.

Appalachian State Wrestling Camp:

This is our biggest camp of the summer.  Every summer we take a group of 50-60 middle school and high school wrestlers to the Appalachian State Wrestling Camp in Boone, NC.  During this camp, wrestlers will get 8-12 matches and go through 8 technique stations.  Wrestlers stay in dorms on campus and eat meals in the dining hall.  Stanford and Orange travel and stay together.  Rising ninth graders may have the opportunity to wrestle in the high-school division and the rising 6th through 8th graders will wrestle in the middle school division.  We will provide transportation. This camp is strongly encouraged for all wrestlers.

When: July 15th-18th

Where: Boone NC

Cost: $330 (a $100 deposit made payable to Stanford is due by May 25th)
